Truthbrush ❀
PLANET
Truthbrush makes their toothbrushes in China, the natural habitat of bamboo. They carbon offset all shipping, but we would love to see them offsetting their all their emissions. We would also like to see Truthbrush outline their scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions, as well as their plans to both eliminate these and reach Net Zero. Truthbrush are members of 1% for the planet, which means they give 1% of their total sales to environmental non-profits, and also plant a tree for every wholesale order they receive.
PEOPLE
Truthbrush is women-owned and run. They are fellows of the School for Social Entrepreneurs, and mentor other women starting out in business. It is a UK-based company, therefore they comply with UK employment regulations. They have no information on their Chinese suppliers so we are unable to look into their maker well-being.
ANIMALS
All of Truthbrush’s products are vegan and cruelty free.
BUSINESS
Truthbrush is a certified B Corp. They say they are committed to reducing plastic waste and creating more sustainable oral care. Truthbrush does have some sustainability FAQs on their website for all the major questions we ask, but we found a lack of detail on their emissions. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from Truthbrush in order learn more about their sustainability policies and practices.
