PLANET
Vivaia Shoes do not currently track or report their emissions, and we would like to see this alongside their plans for net zero.
PEOPLE
Vivaia Shoes are based in the UK, whilst their production is based in China. They say that they require their factories to guarantee fair and healthy working conditions, and we would like to see them provide further detail on what they look for. We would also like to see Vivaia Shoes provide more information on who their suppliers are and where they are located.
ANIMALS
As Vivaia Shoes use wool in their footwear, we would like to see them provide their animal welfare policies to ensure that the sheep are treated well.
BUSINESS
Vivaia Shoes use some natural and certified recycled materials in their shoes, and their packaging is FSC certified. However, they still virgin plastic for parts of their shoe such as the heel, and we would like to see them change this to a more sustainable material. Vivaia Shoes have policies in place to reduce waste, such as a knit technology used during production to shape the uppers which reduces production waste by over 30%. As a next step, we would like to see Vivaia Shoes produce an annual impact report to increase the transparency of their sustainability policies and practices, such as how they vet their suppliers and further reduce their impact on the environment during production.
