Treun House Atelier

Treun House Atelier sells luxury, made-to-order clothing, and frequently collaborates with charities as part of their collections. Their clothing also features tags allowing for consumers to track its journey from farm to product, and provides instructions for how to dispose of the garment at the end of its life.

PLANET

Treun are transparent about the suppliers that they source from and the policies and the eco-credentials that they have (such as the EU Ecolabel or FSC certification) to prove that their materials have been produced in a way that protects the environment. Treun currently do not track their scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and we would like to see this alongside their plans for Net Zero.

PEOPLE

Treun’s factories are based in Scotland and Italy, and therefore we assume they adhere to these countries’ employment regulations. They support various charities through the sales of their clothing collaborations, and are a member of the United Nations Conscious Fashion & Lifestyle Network and of Land to Market, a movement aiming to promote regenerative agriculture. Their suppliers are either located in countries with solid workers’ rights or have policies in place to protect their workers.

ANIMALS

Treun do not use any animal products in their clothing.

BUSINESS

Treun uses EcoVero (made from viscose fiber) for their clothing and Circulose (made from discarded textiles) for their product development. Their packaging is made from recycled, FSC-certified, and seaweed paper. As their products are made-to-order they eliminate inventory waste, and their 3D Knitting method ensures minimal waste during production. Treun is also invested in consumer transparency, and their garments feature a digital ID allowing for full traceability of the clothes’ production as well as how to properly dispose of the product at the end of its life. As a next step, we would love to see an annual impact report from Treun outlining their sustainability policies and practices.
