Swedish Stockings
Who knew that our stockings are made from oil? Or that 2 billion pairs of tights are produced each year, worn briefly and then thrown away? Swedish Stockings produce stockings from recycled yarn, using natural dyes and solar power. Plus, they look gorgeous on!

PLANET
Swedish Stockings’ factories only use energy from renewable resources, such as wind or solar. Most of them have their own solar panels, and produce between 35-80% of their own energy, with the remaining energy derived from certified third party sources. They also strive to be more efficient in their transportation methods to reduce their CO2 emissions. As a next step, we would like to see Swedish Stockings fully outline their scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions as well as their plans to eliminate these and reach Net Zero.
PEOPLE
Swedish Stockings’ supply chain is based in Europe, and therefore we assume they adhere to European employment regulations.
ANIMALS
Swedish Stockings use mulesing-free merino wool from South Africa in their tights. All their wool is certified with Responsible Wool Standard.
BUSINESS
Swedish Stockings design and produce tights that last longer. With the ambition to divert stockings from ending up in a landfill, anyone can send Swedish Stockings their worn, torn or used tights and they will grind them down and add them as filler material together with recycled fibreglass. Swedish Stockings also release an annual impact report to aid in the transparency of their sustainability policies and practices.
