PLANET
Stojo are combat the disposable culture with their collapsible cups, and championing reusables. They claim 23lbs of carbon emissions are saved every year with just 1 Stojo, compared to disposable equivalents. However, they do not currently track, measure and account for their own carbon emissions. This is something that we would love to see them do next.
PEOPLE
Stojo is free of BPA, BPS, cadmium, mercury and lead. Their products are made in factories that meet the international Business Social Compliance Initiative Code of Conduct, a rigorous set of requirements focused on employee rights, safety, and environmental regulations.
BUSINESS
Stojo are helping to eradicate disposable culture, with products ranging from reusable cups, to bottles, and snack containers. The silicone cup and straw are amazingly resilient; but just to be safe, they’re working on a way to responsibly recycle silicone so that they can be prepared for when those pieces eventually do wear out. They do provide some information on their website, however we would like to see an annual impact report from Stojo to increase their transparency surrounding their sustainability policies and practices.
