PLANET
Spruce sells dry cleaning products so when they arrive you simply add water. Shipping their cleaning products in packages that weigh 5g, saves fuel and thereby reduces emissions. The refills are packed in plastic-free, home compostable packaging and will naturally decompose into biomass which can be used to improve soil fertility. All their cleaning products are made without harsh synthetic chemicals which are damaging to the environment and are increasingly linked to health problems in humans. As a next step, we would like to see Spruce fully outline their Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions as well as their plans to both eliminate these and reach Net Zero.
PEOPLE
Spruce is a UK-based company, and we therefore assume they adhere to UK employment laws.
ANIMALS
None of Spruce’s products are tested on animals.
BUSINESS
Spruce is a certified B Corp. Their refillable spray bottles help reduce waste and promote circularity. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from Spruce to learn more detail about their sustainability policies and practices.
