PLANET
In 2022, Royal Doulton’s Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 42% compared to the base year 2017 and they plan to reduce their supply chain emissions by 30% by 2030. Their parent company, Fiskar Group, owns around 14,000 hectares of sustainability managed and certified forests around the area of Fiskars Village in Finland. As a next step, we would like to see Royal Doulton outline when they plan to become Net Zero.
PEOPLE
Royal Doulton are part of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), committed to identifying and addressing potential human right issues, and working against corruption and bribery. As well as this, Royal Doulton have a very detailed and transparent remuneration policy, which ensures fair wages for all their workers.
They have also worked with a number of charities, including their “Nature edition” scissors where they donated 5% of sales to local WWF nature conservation work in Finland.
BUSINESS
Royal Doulton released transparent sustainability reports, outlining their emissions, policies and future plans. Royal Doulton (Fiskars Group) currently offer more than 230 FSC certified products, and the FSC certification covers their markets in Europe. In 2021 they conducted a total of 81 supplier code of conduct audit on their suppliers. This included audits for finished good suppliers, raw material and component suppliers, and out-licensing partners.
