PLANET
prAna currently tracks, measures and accounts for their scope 1 and 2 emissions. They are currently working on measuring Scope 3, their supply chain. They have set a climate target of 30% reduction in manufacturing emissions by 2030. We’d like to see targets set beyond that for Net Zero.
PEOPLE
prAna uses a high proportion of Fairtrade factories, to ensure that workers are treated fairly. Since 2010, prAna have been able to convert 11 factories to Fair Trade Certified™ and generate premiums which benefited 26,000+ workers worldwide. Their current goal is to have 100% of their products manufactured in Fairtrade certified factories by 2028.
ANIMALS
prAna value animal welfare and certify products to select industry standards to make sure animals are respected at all times. This includes the The Responsible Down Standard (RDS). They are also looking for Responsible Wool certification shortly!
BUSINESS
prAna champions circularity by using mainly recycled materials in their collections, and also through their Renewed Apparel programme. This circular model extends the life of their clothing and diverts textiles from the landfill by repairing or renewing existing products, restoring their wearability before re-selling. This programme has allowed them to divert 56k+ pounds of garment waste from the landfill since 2016. prAna provides a wealth of information about their policies and practices on their website, including a Transparency Map, which allows you to view all the details about each of their factories in their supply chain.
