Oquist say that their multifunctional and waterless cosmetics strategy allows them to reduce their carbon emissions by 80-97% compared to conventional cosmetic brands. By removing the water ‘filler’ used by most cosmetic products, and avoiding unnecessary packaging they reduce weight and space during shipment - activities known for releasing high levels of CO2 emissions. We’d like to see Oquist track, measure and account for their scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, as well publish a plan for reaching Net Zero.

PEOPLE

Oquist is a father-daughter duo founded business based in Sweden, with production mainly taking place in Latvia, and therefore we assume they adhere to EU employment regulations.

ANIMALS

By eliminating preservatives and other toxic ingredients from their formulations they ensure nothing in their products harms and pollutes our waters, living organisms or ecosystems.

BUSINESS

We love Oquist’s regenerative and innovative approach to cosmetics. We also love that to honor Earth they decided to store their formulations in a Sustainable clay Sculpture (III), made to be upcycled in your home - increasing circularity for their products. They provide information on their sustainability policies and practices on their website. The next step we’d like to see is an annual impact report from Oquist in order to further increase their transparency.
