PLANET
Polarn O. Pyret are aiming to halve their emissions by 2030. They also track their carbon emissions, and are working to reduce their carbon footprint by using renewable energy. In 2021, 64% of the cotton used in their garments was organic and GOTS certified, and they give advice on how to reduce the presence of microplastics in the environment.
PEOPLE
Polarn O. Pyret provides their workers with a fair wage and reasonable hours, and works to empower women by upholding equal pay. We love their WaterAid collection, of which 10% of proceeds were donated, as well as their partnership with Helpforce, by sending clothes to children who are in hospital and in need of clothing.
ANIMALS
All the wool used in Polarn O. Pyret’s garments is responsibly sourced, and they only buy merino wool which is certified non-mulesing. They also have an Animal Welfare Policy which states that animals must be protected from unnecessary suffering and diseases.
BUSINESS
Polarn O. Pyret champions a circular business model in their bags, which are made with 75% recycled plastic and 25% oyster shell. They also have a pre-loved section on their website, which helps to extend the life of their clothes. We also love their sustainability report, which clearly addresses their sustainability policies.
