PLANET

Oramai uses GOTS certified linen, ensuring that their fabrics are made from organic flax, responsibly harvested without pesticides or herbicides. This eco-friendly approach conserves water, as flax requires no additional irrigation beyond rainwater. We would like to see an impact report detailing their emissions and aims to achieve Net Zero by 2040.

PEOPLE

Oramai have produced a number of products in collaboration with Saheli Women, a sustainable clothing and ethical fashion enterprise based in India. Saheli Women supports 28 female employees by offering them fair wages, health insurance, and a safe, inclusive work environment. One thing we would like to see is statistics on any financial aid Ormai provides and the real-life impact this has had on individuals. We love to see that this company is female founded and offers a space for female stories on their website.

ANIMALS

From what we are aware, Oramai does not use any animal products in their garments. We would like to see a detailed impact report listing all materials used to confirm this.

BUSINESS

Ormai prides themselves on not being a seasonal fashion. They produce timeless clothes and avoid regular seasonal collections to reduce overproducing. They use 100% recycled tissue paper to pack their products, which goes inside a home compostable, biodegradable mailing satchel that is made from plants. They offer information on their website on how to care for and repair your garments but we would like to see them introduce a system in which buyers can return their products to be reused by the brand.
