PLANET
Maison/Made calculates a carbon budget that aligns with the UN's target of limiting the planet's temperature rise to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. We were very pleased to see their dedication to biodynamic certified agriculture schemes. This form of regenerative farming works with nature rather than exploiting it. We would like to see an impact report detailing their emissions and aims to achieve Net Zero by 2040.
PEOPLE
Maison/Made is a french-based business, so we can assume that they provide fair working conditions for their workers. They discuss the importance of charity work, such as Arizona Muse’s DIRT. We would like to see more details about their efforts in these areas, particularly community involvement.
ANIMALS
Maison/Made states to be vegan and cruelty free. As a next step, we would like to see some form of certification.
BUSINESS
Maison/Made uses custom sized boxes for shipping that are made of 100% post-consumer waste paper. They minimise waste further by choosing ingredients that require minimal processing and using a small-batch production system. Their paper-tubes are designed to be aesthetically pleasing, encouraging customers to repurpose it. To uphold their biodynamic certification, Maison/Made conducts annual studio inspections and adheres to strict ingredient sourcing regulations.
