PLANET
Ocean Bottle’s mission is to prevent 7 billion plastic bottles from entering the ocean by 2025. They track, measure and account for their all their carbon emissions. In 2022, their Scope 1 and 2 emissions were 0 kg, and their Scope 3, their supply chain, was over 2 million kg. They are working to reduce their Scope 3 emissions but have given no set goal for reducing them by 95% - and achieving Net Zero. Rather than using off-setting Ocean Bottle are funding seagrass projects. Their bottles are made from 90% recycled stainless steel, reducing product emissions by 70% compared to equivalents.
PEOPLE
Ocean Bottle have a minimum requirement of 40% women at their company, they identify children at risk of child labour, and provide an alternative education pathway for them.
BUSINESS
Ocean Bottle funds waste collectors' (and their childrens') education and healthcare. They have so far collected over 8 million kg of plastic, in 345 communities and have supported 6488 waste collectors. Ocean Bottle are a certified B Corp, and release an annual impact report which increases their transparency and helps customers to understand where their money is going.
