Newbie take care to reduce the volume of water and chemicals used in production. By 2030, they are aiming for a 50% reduction of their absolute climate impact, greater sustainability, and have a goal to become carbon-neutral by 2040. They currently track their carbon emissions, and hope to halve each product’s CO2 emissions by 2026.
PEOPLE
Newbie is a part of the Kappahl Group, which works to ensure healthy and safe working conditions for producers in high-risk countries and women. Part of Newbie’s goal is to promote better working conditions for people working in the production of garments. One initiative is creating an education centre for women workers in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
BUSINESS
Newbie are working towards a circular economy with the release of Rescued fabrics - a brand new collection designed with left-over fabrics from previous collections. They also publish yearly sustainability reports with details of their emissions and goals for the future – and make a lot of this information more accessible via their website.
