PLANET
We are not hugely impressed by Milk & More’s goal to be carbon neutral by 2050 when they are legally obliged to be Net Zero by that date. The impact reports they have published are sketchy in detail and low on data on their carbon emisisons. As a next step, we would like to see more evidence of whether and how they tracking their Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. They offer a range of Soil Assocation certified organic products, and are planning to make their delivery vans 100% electric but don’t provide a specific date for this to be achieved, as well as reducing their water use by 15% by 2025.
PEOPLE
As a UK based company, we assume that Milk & More adhere to UK employment regulations. Milk & More are also a living wage employer, with initiatives to support the mental health of staff. They also are involved in programmes to teach new skills to young farmers.
ANIMALS
As well as stocking a wide dairy-free range, Milk & More have a stringent animal welfare policy, as defined by the Farm Animal Welfare Council.
BUSINESS
Milk & More’s own dairy products are completely plastic free, and they encourage customers to return the glass bottles after use, which are used an average of 25 times before being recycled. In the future, we would like to see more of their partner brands which they stock also go plastic free as well. Milk & More are partnered with charity The Good Things Foundation, who are helping to break the divide in access to digital technology in the UK. We’d like to see some more publicly-available data on their environmental impact from Milk & More to up their transparency.
