PLANET
Odylique report their scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Their factory is powered by clean energy from solar panels and their providers Ecotricity and Urban Chain. They also reduce the carbon footprint of their raw materials through sourcing the majority of their packaging from Europe and the UK, thereby cutting down on transport emissions. Odylique are aiming to offset their emissions in 2024, and we hope to see this alongside plans for Net Zero.
PEOPLE
Odylique is a family business founded by women. They are based in the UK, and we therefore assume that they adhere to UK employment regulations. The brand believes in corporate social responsibility, and believes in businesses’ duty to act responsibly towards people by giving back to society, and carries this out through supporting charities such as Breast Cancer UK and Mind. Odylique sources their ingredients from Fairtrade certified suppliers.
ANIMALS
Odylique are certified cruelty-free by both PETA and the Naturewatch Foundation. They also ensure that their suppliers do not test on animals, and won’t buy ingredients that have been animal-tested since 1990.
BUSINESS
Odylique use organic and biodynamic ingredients that are either COSMOS, Soil Association Organic, or Demeter certified. They use plastic for their product packaging that is made from 50% recycled milk bottles, and where possible they use glass packaging instead. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from Odylique outlining their sustainability policies and practices, such as the measures that they have in place to protect the environment during production.
PARENT COMPANY
Odylique is owned by Essential Care Organics Holdings Ltd.
