PLANET
Lick are certified carbon neutral by ClimatePartner. They offset emissions through projects such as a fossil-fuel phase-out in Soacha, Colombia and the clean cookstoves project in the Nyungwe Forest National Park, Rwanda. They also plan to outline their emissions reduction plans for reaching Net Zero, and we look forward to seeing this. As a next step, we would like Lick to report their scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions on their website to allow for full consumer transparency.
PEOPLE
Lick is a female-led business. As it is based in the UK, we assume that they adhere to UK employment regulations.They are partnered with the charities 4ocean, One Tree Planted, and charity: water. Lick has suppliers in the UK, Vietnam, and South Korea, and we would like to hear more about the standards that they are held to.

All Lick’s products are 100% vegan.
BUSINESS
Lick are a certified B Corp. They reduce waste through using recycled materials and steel in their wallpaper and tools, making their paint to-order, and using stickers in place of manufacturing small paint samples. They also use FSC-certified paper and bamboo in their wallpaper and tools and their paints are water-based, although they lack information regarding what materials their paints are made from. As a next step, we would like to see Lick provide further detail on their sustainability policies and practices, such as the measures that they have in place to protect the environment during production.
