PLANET

Ivy Oak’s deliveries, returns, and their online shop are CO2 neutral and offset via Klimakollekte through Gold Standard certified climate protection projects. The majority of their overseas production arrives via sea and rail transport, and they mainly work with manufacturing partners and fabric suppliers located in Europe to ensure a shorter supply chain. Ivy Oak also work with Made2Flow to gather data on the CO2 emissions, water consumption, and land use of some of their clothes from cradle-to-site, and reports this on their website. As a next step, we would like to hear Ivy Oak’s plans for reaching Net Zero and to see them offset across all three scopes in the meantime.

PEOPLE

Ivy Oak are a European company, and therefore we assume they adhere to EU labour laws. Their business partners must comply to set standards for working hours and wages, allow worker unions, and not use forced labour or employ discriminatory practices.

ANIMALS

Ivy Oak does not allow animal testing at any point in the production process of their products. They are a member of the Fur Free Alliance. Ivy Oak only use wool that is 100% mulesing-free and sourced from producers with good animal welfare and husbandry practices. As a next step, we would like to see Ivy Oak go into detail on the practices that they look for in their suppliers.

BUSINESS

In addition to wool, Ivy Oak also uses viscose, leather, and cotton in their clothing. Their viscose is sourced from producers which have been rated “Green Shirt” in Canopy’s Hot Button ranking, and they claim to use organic cotton, although they do not clarify which organic certification their cotton uses. As a next step, we would like to hear more about the environmental policies of Ivy Oak’s suppliers.
