Hampstead Tea sells a broad range of 100% organic teas in 100% biodegradable packaging. Many of their teas are also certified biodynamic, proving that their farming methods encourage biodiversity and restore nutrients to the soil.

PLANET

All of their teas are at least USDA Organic or Demeter biodynamic certified, showing that synthetic pesticides and fertilisers were avoided in the farming process. The biodynamic farming method of some of their teas also contributes to carbon sequestration through increased biodiversity. Furthermore, almost all of their products are plastic-free as they have eliminated its use where possible. As a next step, we would like to see Hampstead Tea begin reporting their emissions.

PEOPLE

Hampstead Tea is a UK based business, and therefore we assume they adhere to UK employment regulations. The majority of their teas are purchased from Fairtrade sources, certifying the ethical treatment of the workers involved.

BUSINESS

All of Hampstead Tea’s tea bags are biodegradable and home-compostable. As they purchase mostly from Fairtrade sources, this allows the workers to reinvest their Fairtrade premium into improving their local communities. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report.
