PLANET

In 2020, The Carbon Trust certified Freddie’s Flowers as carbon neutral for all UK operations; this was achieved by offsetting their carbon emissions and putting in place an emissions reducing strategy in accordance with the PAS 2060 standard.

As well as investing in the protection of forests in both the Amazon and Kariba (Zimbabwe) through the UN REDD+ initiative, Freddie’s Flowers plant trees in the U.K. Their next steps include reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030. We currently cannot find any information on their plans to become Net Zero, so it would be great to see how they will tackle this in the coming years.

PEOPLE

Freddie’s Flowers are very active with charities; they have partnered with The Tag Rugby Trust in Zimbabwe to  create social change through sport. As well as this, Freddie’s Flowers have raised over £2000 for Black Thrive in order to tackle social inequality. Freddie’s Flowers ensure great working conditions for its employees and is Great Place to Work certified (2021).

BUSINESS

All Freddie’s Flowers’ standard packaging are recyclable or biodegradable. They aim to have a more circular business model through collecting their delivery boxes for reuse. We love that Freddie’s Flowers have an impact report and that they have been certified by Floriculture Sustainability.
