PLANET
Daye works with Climate Partner to measure the carbon footprint of their products and is carbon neutral, offsetting their emissions through funding a clean drinking water project in Eritrea. They are also working to cut down on their emissions as much as possible and to find more sustainable solutions for their products. As a next step, we would love to see Daye outline plans to reach Net Zero.
PEOPLE
Daye is a UK based company, and therefore we assume they adhere to UK employment regulations. They claim that their tampons are more expensive due to their suppliers being paid ethical production wages, and we would love to hear more about how they ensure the ethical treatment of the workers in their supply chain.
ANIMALS
Daye is not cruelty-free. As part of US FDA guidelines, their tampons were required to undergo a one-off animal test in order to be sold in the country.
BUSINESS
Daye avoids the use of plastic in their tampons, which are made from 100% cotton fibres and contained in sugarcane applicators. Although Daye claims their cotton is certified organic, they do not currently list which certification is used on their website. As a next step, we would love to see an annual impact report from Daye in order to increase the transparency of their sustainability policies and practices, such as how they vet their suppliers and the measures that they have in place to protect the environment during production.
