Dame have produced the world’s first reusable tampon applicator and they sell rather discrete reusable sanitary towels. Still, they’re not about to be coy about periods, seeing it as their mission to break the taboo around them. So far, they’ve saved over 6 million plastic period products from the bin.

DAME says it has Carbon Neutral Plus certification. They track the carbon emissions of their entire supply chain, and double offset the amount they emitted in the first place. They’re also working to reduce their carbon emissions, rather than just relying on offsetting. After two years of trading, they have successfully prevented over 6 million tampon applicators being thrown away.
PEOPLE
DAME have their own DAMEchangers programme for girls. They donate products to programmes such as Rethink Periods and WEN's Environmenstrual Ambassador programme to help young people learn about alternative products earlier, form sustainable habits, and make use of the free products available to them whilst at school. They also partnered with singer Nina Nesbitt to launch limited edition Period Drama Queen tampons, with 100% of the profit going to Bloody Good Period.
BUSINESS
DAME are B-Corp certified, and are working to completely eliminate single-use plastic in period products, avoiding huge amounts of waste. We’re impressed with DAME’s transparency in their extremely detailed annual impact reports.
