PLANET

Brora calculates all their emissions - scope 1, 2, and 3 - and describe themselves as carbon neutral, offsetting through investing in various environmental projects such as planting trees in the UK and biodigesters in India. As a next step, we would like to see Brora’s plans to target Net Zero.

PEOPLE

Brora is a UK-based company, and therefore we assume they adhere to UK employment regulations. Their suppliers must agree to their code of conduct which includes worker welfare, but we would like Brora to provide more detail on the specifics of this policy.

ANIMALS

Brora sources their cashmere and wool from a mill that is part of the Sustainable Fibre Alliance. However, they do not provide adequate information on the policies in place to ensure the welfare of the animals.

BUSINESS

Brora encourages consumers to buy fewer, timeless, and high-quality items that last and can be enjoyed for more than one season. Brora is also passionate about supporting charities and has raised money for Save the Children, The British Red Cross, and various others. Although Brora claims to source sustainable materials, they currently do not provide adequate information on the sourcing of their cotton and linen. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from Brora outlining their sustainability policies and practices such as the measures that they have in place to protect the environment during production.
