Bumbleride

Bumbleride say their strollers are made from recycled plastic bottles. Their single and twin strollers are all-terrain and they look good too.

PLANET

Bumbleride uses an innovative dyeing process that reduces water use and pollution. They claim to seek out suppliers that are innovating to save energy, conserve water, and reduce pollution in landfills, and we would like to hear more information on who their suppliers are and the environmental policies that they have in place. Bumbleride currently do not track their scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and we would like to see this alongside their plans for Net Zero.

PEOPLE

Bumbleride has been working with the same family-run factory in Taiwan since 2004, who in turn employ 50 independent suppliers. This allows the company to maintain a strong connection to those responsible for production — they are given ethical working conditions, fair pay, and a 5-day work week with no overtime. As a next step, we would like to see Bumbleride provide further information on how they ensure the ethical treatment of the workers in their supply chain.

BUSINESS

Bumbleride are starting to consider their circularity. Their fabrics are made with 100% recycled polyester produced from post-consumer water bottles, and they use thermoplastic rubber as a recyclable alternative to foam in their handlebars. However, Bumbleride also uses aluminium and plastic in their products, and we would like them to provide further detail on how their materials have a reduced environmental impact to the industry standard. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from Bumbleride in order to increase their transparency surrounding their sustainability policies and practices.
