PLANET
Bloom & Wild are Carbon Neutral certified through Natural Capital Partners and offset emissions by supporting projects around the world that invest in renewable energy, cut carbon, and improve communities, including two Gold Standard certified projects. Their packaging is made from 100% recycled materials, like FSC-certified cardboard and their ribbons are made from recycled plastic bottles.
PEOPLE
Bloom & Wild are a UK-based business, and regularly donate to four charities: Carers Trust, Blueprint For All, LGBT Foundation and The Bee Friendly Trust. They have mental health support for their colleagues through an online company called Spill, and have started quarterly health checks so they have a regular feel of how the team’s doing mentally. All flower farms they work with in Kenya have good provision for maternity leave, and allow some flexibility for new mothers. They have launched a toolkit to support their neurodiverse colleagues and have expanded their leave policy to include paid time off for those who are transitioning, have been through pregnancy loss or wish to take shared parental leave.
BUSINESS
Bloom & Wild publish an annual impact report detailing their approach to sustainability and the steps they are taking to reduce their environmental impact and be a responsible business. We are impressed by their transparency surrounding their sustainability policies and practices. They are also introducing a more circular approach, for example by sending tulips with bulbs on so they can be replanted, and they have launched their own flower press kit to preserve their blooms.
