PLANET
BEEN London says they have put their carbon emissions through a life-cycle analysis and their bags emit 87% less carbon than a high street bag. They then offset the remaining amount through a partnership with Terra Neutra. BEEN London also invest in an additional tree planting scheme. As a next step, we would love to see a break-down of BEEN London’s Scope 1,2 and 3 on their website.

BEEN London is a UK based company, and therefore we assume they adhere to UK employment regulations.
ANIMALS
BEEN London uses some recycled leather trimmings in their products.
BUSINESS
BEEN London champion innovative material design in their products - they work with pineapple leaves and apple peels that are repurposed into their vegan leather. They also use recycled materials, from discarded leather trimmings recycled into premium full-grain leather, to landfill-bound plastics that are revived as silky linings and zips. BEEN London are also working on their circularity. They work closely with their workshop and offer free repairs to all of their bags when they need a little TLC a few years down the line, but they also design with end of life in mind. This means using stitching instead of glue allowing them to easily recycle each part of the bag. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from BEEN London.
