PLANET

Aspiga are partnered with CarbonClick, enabling consumers to purchase carbon credits at checkout. These go directly to supporting gold standard verified carbon offset projects such as forest restoration, tree planting and renewable energy projects around the world. We would prefer it if this was intrinsic to Aspiga - rather than putting the responsibility on consumers. Aspiga are currently measuring their scopes 1, 2 with Future Leap with a view to becoming carbon neutral by 2025. They plan to measure and reduce their Scope 3 emissions but have not yet given a date to do that. We’d like to see more ambition on reducing their carbon emissions.

PEOPLE

In the 12 months to June 2022 Aspiga donated £19,000 to a range of humanitarian organisations, including giving £2 to clean water non-profit WaterHarvest for every product that was unable to be made using sustainable cotton. Aspiga also supports the Disaster Emergency Committee and Bluebell’s school in Kenya, where the brand also organises monthly Beach Clean initiatives, as well as similar initiatives in Cornwall and on the banks of the Thames.

ANIMALS

Aspiga’s animal and animal-derived materials used in their products are a by-product of the meat industry and never from endangered or wild caught species.

BUSINESS

Aspiga work towards circularity by creating initiatives that reuse leftover fabric and eliminate waste going to landfill. Aspiga also use GOTS certified cotton in their products, which helps reduce their impact on the environment. Aspiga provide impact reports to aid in transparency.
