PLANET

Arkitaip is committed to reducing their environmental impact by using sustainable materials and production methods. The brand uses 100% natural and sustainable linen that requires less water, pesticides, and energy to produce compared to other materials. They also use eco-friendly packaging made from recycled and biodegradable materials, such as corn starch and recycled paper. Arkitaip currently offsets 10kg CO2 per item sold (working off estimates that each garment emits roughly 5.5kg) using the platform CHOOOSE, and their shipping is offset by Offset.

PEOPLE

Arkitaip is committed to ethical and fair labor practices, ensuring that all workers involved in their supply chain are paid a living wage and protected by the EU's European Employment Strategy. They work with a small family-run factory in Lithuania, where the garments are produced. The brand also prioritizes transparency and traceability in their supply chain, sharing the names and stories of the people behind their garments on their website. They also automatically donate 1% of revenue to environmental non-profits whenever a sale is made.

BUSINESS

We love Arkitaip’s focus on circularity - not only can their timeless pieces be passed on for generations, but working with 100% pure linen means they can be recycled, closing their lifecycle. They offer a take-back-scheme where customers can return their  pre-owned Arkitaip pieces, for which they will be rewarded with a £25 voucher code. Arkitaip is a certified B Corporation and all their fabrics carry the OEKO-TEX® 100 Standard-label, meaning that they have been tested for harmful substances. They’ve got some great information on their website, and ways to follow up and learn more, but as they grow it would be fantastic to see an annual impact report.
