PLANET
Abel & Cole have worked with the nonprofit organisation One Carbon World, a Global Resource Partner of the UN, to fund renewable energy and sustainable afforestation projects to balance their Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. They’ve produced a comprehensive impact report giving details on how they are reducing all 3 scopes to bring their carbon footprint down with a plan to reduce their Scope 3 emissions by over 50%, according to the Science Based Targets Initiative. One of the ways they do this is not offering delivery slots and working on a delivery round instead. This ensures they have the smallest distance between drops, keeping their specially-designed vans off the roads as much as possible.
PEOPLE
Abel & Cole are a Living Wage accredited employer, and they also offer every employee at least one paid day a year to volunteer with an organisation close to their heart.
ANIMALS
All of Abel & Cole’s animal products except wild fish come from certified-organic farms.
BUSINESS
Abel & Cole are pioneers of sustainable business, offering organic and sustainable produce, with less packaging, less food waste and lower food miles. They also champion reduced waste by donating their surplus food to charity, accompanied by regular monetary donations to those fighting for food security such as the Felix Project and City Harvest. They also have good transparency of their sustainability policies and practices on their website.
