PLANET
AERA are certified carbon negative and offset their carbon emissions by 110%. The impact of producing, transporting, storing and delivering their shoes has been measured and certified by SCS Global Services, an accredited international leader in third-party certification of environmental and sustainability claims. Within their supply chain, they are working to reduce their environmental impact in both materials suppliers and factories. AERA was also the first shoe company to develop 100% solvent free materials.

AERA is a US based company, and so we assume they adhere to US employment regulations.

AERA are a cruelty-free, vegan company, certified by PETA.
BUSINESS
AERA are B-corp certified, They are working to build a complete take-back program, whereby our customers will be able to, effortlessly, ship their old AERA shoes to their recycling partners. This process is being designed to impart zero cost on our customers and to the environment – through offsetting the relevant shipping impacts. They have plenty of information on their website about their policies surrounding sustainability. We’d like to see a more thorough breakdown of their emissions in line with the Green House Protocol and expand their vision as change makers by donating a portion of their profits to a charitable cause which supports the future of sustainability.
