We’ve fallen in love with Tala lighting at Green Salon. They’ve reimagined the LED light to become a thing of great beauty. Their bulbs use up to 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs and are designed to last up to 10 years. To us they embody the Green Salon idea of sustainable living being so much better than what went before.

PLANET
Tala Lighting are on a mission to become the world’s definitive zero-carbon lighting brand, and are aiming to be net zero by 2025. So far, they have transitioned over 3 million homes to LED lighting, and are aiming to transition more. They have also funded the planting of over 130,000 trees internationally. Tala is now carbon neutral on all their inbound shipments and have reduced air freight from 10% (FY20) to 1.4% (FY21). As a next step, we would like to see Tala report their emission numbers on their website.

Tala Lighting provide fair working conditions for their workers and follow UK employment laws.
BUSINESS
Tala Lighting aim to produce circular products. They design their lights in a way that makes them repairable, easy to maintain, fixable, and simple to disassemble for recycling. Tala is a member of the Lighting Industry Association UK and as part of their Quality Assurance program, Tala is recognised as an LIAQA Assured Company. Tala also runs an ongoing environmental and social audit program across our supply chain partners. As a next step, we would like to see Tala share an annual impact report to increase the transparency of their sustainability policies and practices.
