St. Eval

We’ve been searching for a sustainable candle company that not only makes gloriously scented candles but also creates beautiful dinner candles. St. Eval fits that bill: sustainably made on their farm in Cornwall, St. Eval’s candles are some of the most exquisite we’ve ever sniffed.

PLANET

St. Eval are measuring their carbon footprint with the help of GEP Environmental Consultancy, although we would like to see these numbers reported on their website. Currently they aim to reach net zero by 2030 and are on track to achieve this through initiatives such as expanding their solar power portfolio and eliminating plastic from all diffuser and candle products. They have set targets for recertification in 2025 with the aim of increasing their B Corp score by 10 points. St. Eval use renewable energy, and excess energy is sent to local communities. As a next step, we would like to see St. Eval’s offset their current carbon emissions as they work towards net zero.

PEOPLE

St. Eval are a certified Living Wage employer and are B Corp certified, meaning that they prioritise diversity, inclusion and equity. They also are a Mindful Employer, and care for the mental health of their employees. St. Eval support The Trussell Trust foodbank through making regular donations.

ANIMALS

St. Eval’s candles do not contain any animal products. They are Cruelty Free International certified and are part of the Leaping Bunny programme.

BUSINESS

St. Eval are B Corp certified and are focused on reusing, recycling and reducing waste wherever possible. They encourage their customers to resume and recycle bottles and are launching cost-effective options for these in the coming months.
