PLANET
Dubs track the carbon emissions of their shoes, although they do not currently offset this. They use materials with environmental certifications such as Global Recycled Standard plastic and Leather Working Group Gold leather in their products and use sugarcane for the soles of their shoes. Dubs have produced a carbon life-cycle assessment of their shoes in collaboration with London South Bank University in order to track their impact, and as a next step we would like to see them produce an annual impact report.
PEOPLE
Dubs are a UK-based company, and therefore we assume that they adhere to UK employment regulations. They have a Code of Conduct in place for suppliers that ensures adequate welfare standards for their workers.
ANIMALS
Dubs do not currently provide information on the welfare standards of the animals that their leather is sourced from, and we would like to see this from them in the future.
BUSINESS
Dubs make their packaging from 100% recycled material. They are waste-conscious and ensure that they do not overproduce through only manufacturing in small batches, and additionally offer a scheme to return outgrown Dubs which are then passed on to those in need through a partnership with Sals Shoes that aims to reduce global shoe poverty. They also promote circularity with their integrated resale platform where customers can sell their outgrown Dubs.
