Citizen Wolf

Citizen Wolf is re-engineering the way clothes are made at scale to be both custom fit and carbon negative. Their biometric Magic Fit® system means your tank tops and turtle necks will fit without you having to try them on.

PLANET

Citizen Wolf reports their scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. They are carbon neutral and offset through the New Leaf Project, which aims to rewild forests. Citizen Wolf estimates that their t-shirts produce 48% less carbon than fast fashion ones due to their use of natural fibres. As a next step, we would like to hear Citizen Wolf’s plans for reaching Net Zero.

PEOPLE

Citizen Wolf has been re-certified by Ethical Clothing Australia, which means they pay their workers fairly and that they work in good conditions. They’ve also voluntarily opted-in to the Modern Slavery Act, meaning they’re working towards ensuring there is no slavery at any stage in their supply chain. As a next step, we would like to see Citizen Wolf provide more information on who their suppliers are.

ANIMALS

Citizen Wolf uses wool in their clothing, which is certified cruelty-free by the Responsible Wool Standard and sourced from non-mulesed sheep.

BUSINESS

Citizen Wolf uses GOTS certified organic cotton and recycled cotton in their t-shirts, alongside Tencel (made from FSC certified eucalyptus), hemp, and wool. Their fabric offcuts are used for their Zero Waste Toes & Scarves with scraps that are too small for these upcycled into Zero Waste Yarns. They also reduce waste through their clothing being made to order. Citizen Wolf additionally offers a take-back scheme where t-shirts can be returned for recycling in exchange for credit, and they offer free repairs. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from Citizen Wolf outlining their sustainability policies and practices such as the measures that they have in place to protect the environment during production.
