Knepp Wild Range Meat
It’s not often you get this kind of review for a rump steak: “My God it was good! Not just good in a pedestrian sense, but in a timeless, ancestor stirring, stunning way, which left us staring at each other, bereft of speech.” But that’s Knepp Wild Range meat for you. From rewilded pastureland in Sussex. Meat that’s not just better for you and the planet - but turns you into a poet too!

PLANET
Knepp Meat uses rotational grazing and permanent pasture, both of which help the soil to regenerate and sequester carbon. They also aim to reduce their carbon footprint by using renewable energy sources on the farm, including solar panels and wind turbines, and currently 80% of the vacuum pouches they use are fully recyclable!
PEOPLE
Knepp Meat is UK-based, and therefore we assume that they adhere to UK employment regulations. They also offer training and employment opportunities for young people who are interested in sustainable farming practices.
ANIMALS
Knepp Meat animals are all free-range and free-roaming, over 3,500 acres. According to the company, this approach allows them to raise healthier animals with a lower risk of disease. They also use rare-breed animals, which are more resilient to disease and better adapted to living in their natural environment.
BUSINESS
Knepp Meat is certified by various third-party organizations, including the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association and the Soil Association. Knepp Meat provide some information regarding their sustainability policies and practices on their website but we would love to see an annual impact report to help increase their transparency.
