PLANET

Anya Hindmarch have signed the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action which requires companies to commit to tracking and reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. They have also removed non-compostable plastic, foam, and silica gel packs from their products, and swapped to soy-based inks. As a next step, we would like to see Anya Hindmarch publicly report their scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, as well as share their plans for reaching net zero.

PEOPLE

Anya Hindmarch is based in the UK. They have a code of conduct that ensures that their factory workers are treated fairly, and audit their factories regularly. As a next step, we would like to hear more about their policies for suppliers.

ANIMALS

Anya Hindmarch uses leather by-products of the meat industry and leather sourced from Scan-Hide Swedish farms. As a next step, we would like to hear more detail about the animal welfare standards put in place by their suppliers.

BUSINESS

Anya Hindmarch are prioritising using up their materials stocks and are working on transitioning to the use of textiles certified by Oeko-Tex, Better Cotton Initiative, Global Organic Textile Standard, and Global Recycled Standard. They currently use FSC certified paper and cardboard and Global Recycled Standard certified cotton in their packaging. Anya Hindmarch also reduce waste through their biannual Waste Not Want Not collection which utilises leather off-cuts, and promote sustainability in the fashion industry through their mission to help drive the industry’s GHG emissions to net-zero by 2030. As a next step, we would like to see an annual impact report from Anya Hindmarch outlining their sustainability policies and practices such as the measures that they have in place to protect the environment during production.
